Frequently Asked Questions
Can I buy a fireplace online and install it myself
We highly recommend a certified professional for the installation of our units. Warranty coverage does not extend to issues arising from improper installation.
Does our product work during a power outage
Yes, most of our appliances can be used during a power outage. For more specific information, please consult a local dealer.
What is the difference between Millivolt and electronic ignition fireplaces
Millivolt fireplaces operate on electricity generated by a standing pilot, whereas electronic ignition fireplaces require a power source that can range from house voltage to battery voltage.
Can I use a Wi-Fi Thermostat with my unit
Designed primarily for millivolt or low voltage operation, our units are not compatible with most Wi-Fi thermostats that use 24 volts.
Where can I find my model and serial number
The model and serial number can be found on the rating plate attached to the appliance's valve.
What is the difference between a fireplace, a firebox, and an insert
Fireplaces are intended for installation in a framed opening with specific clearance requirements. Fireboxes offer similar installation but require a burner and logs to complete the unit. Inserts are designed to fit into existing wood-burning fireplaces that meet construction standards.
Can you tell me how old my unit is
Locating your rating plate will allow you to determine the unit's age. The first two digits of the serial number denote the year of manufacture, while the next two indicate the week of that year when it was built.
